Prayer – week 1
Hi everyone,
This week we’re going to focus our prayer on the Erith & Belvedere congregational worship team. They have only 1 member of their worship team called Chris Greengrass who ministers week in, week out!
Let’s pray for more people to join him as he faithfully serves the church in that community.
Please put any words from God, scriptures, pictures etc up on the blog for Chris to see and be encouraged.
Thanks,
Chris O.

Song Projection Software
I don’t know what other people use for projecting song software, but I’ve become a great fan of a program called OpenSong. The benefits of it are that:
- It’s free
- It’s open source
- It works on both PC and Mac (and Linux I think as well…)
- It’s pretty easy to use
- It keeps improving all the time
Like all programs, it does take a while to get your head around, but it seems to be a lot more sensible that a lot of really dire programs I’ve seen out there.
What do other people use?

Songs with a Bang!
One of the songs that has been on my heart at the moment is “Stand Up, Stand Up for Jesus”. The words as so direct and so true for now although it was written in 1858! Check out the lyrics of the 1st verse:
Stand up, stand up for Jesus,
Ye soldiers of the cross,
Lift high His royal banner,
It must not suffer loss.
From vict’ry unto vict’ry
His army He shall lead.
Till ev’ry foe is vanquished
And Christ is Lord indeed.
I normally play it in G on the guitar with some good solid drumming in the background. As the verses go on the pace remains the same but the drums are able to complement the song where the guitar can’t fully. Enjoy.

Notes on Sessions
Hello all! Would it be helpful to get all the info and points from the House of Worship band/worship leader session into some sort of document that you could download?
I still want to hear the samba version of ‘Blessed Assurance”…

House of Worship – October
Great to see you all tonight at the House of Worship!
Was a great night. I think it’s really encouraging that we’re growing together as a team, and the more this happens, the more we’ll find the Lord’s presence flowing through our worship times both centrally and in every congregation.
Don’t forget to keep checking the blog for news, info, prayer and plenty of discussion!
Cheers!
Chris.
ps…the guys from New Wine/Abide are legends as they came so far!

Next Week
Get ready for House of Worship next thursday… 7 day countdown… Has anyone written a blazing new gospel song for the choir yet? It has to be in at least 3 parts with space for a diva to wail over the top and excessive horn arrangements…
School of Worship
Ok, it’s time to book in to the school of worship. We’ve got the rhythm workshop starting on November 10th which still has spaces so please encourage your drummers to book on via the website ichthus.org.uk or using the SoW booklet.
Also, the worship leaders retreat is fast approaching and spaces are going, so get in quick!
thanks,
Chris.
the 80s
Recently we’ve realised that most of our worship music is either new songs written in house, Godfrey, hymns or 80s songs from the days when people were pouring into churches to worship – something we need to get back to!
Anyway, are there any other 80s songs or hymns you guys have been using in church which you’ve found to have worked well. To get us started, we’ve just started using ‘I will call upon the Lord’ (the Lord liveth…) which people really get in to.
What have you used?
Chris.
Fresh release of the supernatural
Hey folks
We have really been pressing into the Lord lately in our worship and I want to encourage you all to keep going higher! After Chris, Henry, Tim Lings and myself ministered in Bridport there were a number of supernatural ‘tasters’ including a sweet fragrance which a number of people smelled – including myself, which caught me off guard as I have had a cold all weekend and not been able to smell a thing! I felt the Lord say that we’re going to see a fresh release of the supernatural as we continue to press into Him. It’s something Roger has said a few times since the end of 2006 I remember: we want to press into the supernatural more – more miracles, healings, signs and wonders which will ultimately release more joy and love for the Lord and His purposes.
Be blessed all!
